Project overview

The five-year project using the £497,286 grant to support older deafblind people across Northern Ireland to reduce loneliness though peer support and social groups. The project includes work on communication skills, befrienders, and increasing their confidence and independence. Activities include an outreach service, a helpline, technology support, awareness sessions, and a magazine. The project is maintaining their current groups and setting up new ones in Derry/Londonderry, Fermanagh, Tyrone and Down.
