Friends of Cherry Tree Wood in Finchley, London was established in 1998. The aim of the project is to regenerate the wood through the removal of invasive species of saplings and other flora, coppicing and protection of the cleared areas by dead hedging or fencing, will enable native flora to regenerate and will provide an example of ancient woodland management. The group also plan to install nest boxes. The project will benefit between 8 - 10,000 people and 5 other organisations.
