Simlemba Community Initiative for Sustainable Rural Livelihoods
Simlemba Community Initiative for Sustainable Rural Livelihoods - Project
Project overview
This project will improve food security for 3,500 subsistence farmers and their families through the introduction of sustainable agricultural techniques that will improve the soil. Forest regeneration will reduce soil erosion and recharge the water table while irrigation schemes will enable crop production during the dry season. The project will also help to develop alternative sources of income, such as poultry and horticulture, for female-headed households and those with HIV/AIDS orphans.
