The project will help parents and carers apply for disability living allowance (DLA) through one-to-one work and delivery of workshops. It will also publish and distribute booklets giving advice on DLA applications and other disability benefit entitlements. The DLA application process is very complex, resulting in low take up. In Brighton and Hove, 83% of disabled children live in wards that lack services, highlighting the extent to which this project is needed.
