The project will provide friendly and confidential support, friendship and practical help to young families who are experiencing times of stress. Volunteers, usually parents themselves, will be trained and supported to visit families weekly for 2-3 hours. The project will raise the self esteem of families, helping to strengthen the parents' relationships with their children and reducing their isolation by widening the links to the local community. It will also help volunteers to gain valuable experience.
