This formal group would use an award to organise and event to commemorate the D-Day 60th anniversary. Private pilots would volunteer their time and aircraft to enable WW2 aircrew veterans to fly again. In liaison with aircrew associations from all parts of the UK, the veterans would be put in touch with their associated pilots, who would fly them from their nearest airfield to the meeting airfield venue.
