Katesbridge Ladies Rural Group will use their award to hold several activities to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. A street party will recreate those from 1945, a time capsule capturing memories and people's experiences of the war will be created, not to be opened until 2045. The group will make a visit to Carrickfergus Castle which was used as an Air Raid Shelter during World War Two. A tiled wall mural and quilt depicting war events will be created by the community.
