This £72 million programme supported work that tackled the causes of poverty and deprivation, and brought about a long-term difference to the lives of the most disadvantaged people across the globe.
£60 million was available for the following:
- International Communities
- International Strategic
- International Small Grants
£12 million to help Tsunami long-term reconstruction
International Small Grants
International Small Grants was for small and medium-sized UK non-governmental organisations working with partners overseas.
Grants were for feasibility studies, research and analysis for future projects.
Projects had to be based in one or more of the following countries or regions:
- Africa
- Asia
- The Middle East
- Central and South America
- The Caribbean
- Eastern Europe, including the Russian Federation and Caucasus, excluding members of the European Union
