How Awards for All England is supporting communities to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee

It’s an exciting time as the UK prepares for #Celebrate2022, a year of celebration and national pride including Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Awards for All England funding is available to support Jubilee themed community-led events on the weekend of 4^th-5^th June and throughout 2022.

We can fund lots of different activities on Awards for All England for smaller amounts of funding between £300 and £10,000, and we expect activities that are supporting Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee to be small scale and driven by the community.

By a ‘community’, we mean people:

• living in the same area - like a city, town, or street
• who share characteristics - like beliefs, values, interests or faith
• who can be grouped together in some other way.

Projects could be a one-off event or happen over 2022, such as:

• cultural festivals or activities to promote community cohesion and build connections across your community
• community events or activities engaging people from different generations and cultures to get to know one another and share experiences
• improving local spaces to provide a space for the community to connect to nature
• events or activities driven by the community to reduce isolation and help people to socialise again, for example a street party or community cooking event

We recognise that some activities may want or need to be held virtually and that is OK.

We’re unlikely to fund:

• activities or an event with no wider community engagement

If you’re thinking of applying, make sure your project still meets what Awards for All England is looking for:

• make sure you check who can and cannot apply before filling out the application form
• projects need to meet one of Awards for All England's funding priorities
• · projects need to involve people and communities from the start, build on people’s strengths and are connected in their community. This short video explains it well - involve your community video
• you must spend the money within 12 months of getting it
• we will continue to prioritise groups with smaller incomes.

Here are the key things to know:

• applications for Jubilee projects should be received no later than 31 March 2022
• you cannot apply for Awards for All England funding for a project that you are awaiting a decision from The Platinum Jubilee Fund. You can apply if you have already had an unsuccessful decision, or it is for a different project
