This project, based in five districts in Rwanda, will transform the lives of widowed genocide survivors, enabling them to access mental healthcare, particularly trauma counselling. It will increase the capacity of the five existing full-time professional counsellors through a network of 82 psychosocial volunteers. 82 volunteer paralegals will complement the work of the volunteers and empower widows and their dependants to claim their rights through sensitisation, information/education and support.
