Project overview
Poverty in Guatemala is one of the most chronic in Latin America. Fifty six per cent of the population live on $2 per day and only 30 per cent of children have access to education. Maternal mortality is high and 50 per cent of infant mortality is nutrition related. HIV/AIDS rates are growing among urban populations and are the highest (eight per cent) in the three areas targeted by this project.
