Water and Sanitation Project for Tibetan Refugees - Project
Project overview
Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim in India are home to two of the poorest and most remote Tibetan settlements. In these settlements there are a variety of health problems, including high incidence of diarrhoeal diseases, high infant mortality and morbidity rates. Women have to travel long distances to fetch water, and the majority of households are subsistence farmers who have little or no disposable income. The overall aim of the project is to improve the health of Tibetan refugees.
