Fingers crossed for a great selfie on 29 October
On Tuesday 29th October we’re inviting past and present grant holders to join us in posting a cross finger selfie on social media in a digital celebration of The National Lottery’s 25th birthday.
In the 25 years since its first draw, over £40 billion has been given out to good causes with over half a million (565,000) projects benefiting from this life-changing money.
This is why we’re encouraging thousands of people, projects and communities we’ve funded all over the UK to post a crossed finger selfie on social media to say a collective thank you to National Lottery players.
You might have already received an email from us explaining how to join in, but if not, here’s what to do:
- Take a selfie posing by yourself, or with some friends, posing with crossed fingers.
- Write a short message thanking National Lottery players for helping charities and community groups, include the hashtag #NationalLottery25 and don’t forget to tag us so we can see it.
- Post the selfie and message on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram (or all three) on 29 October.
Whether you’re working for a project we’re funding, you’re a beneficiary or someone who simply recognises the great things The National lottery makes possible – please join in.
This is an opportunity to reflect on the huge impact made by good cause money in the UK, as well as the fantastic difference people are making in communities every day.
