Removing Barriers, Rebuilding Lives
The project will support long-term unemployed people across Oxfordshire in making the most of existing education and work opportunities to get the skills and confidence they need to get into work. While helping those involved to improve their lifestyle and wellbeing, the project hopes to help fill recruitment gaps for employers and contribute to the county's continuing economic development.
Back on Track
Back on Track aims to transform the lives of young people aged 15-17 at are Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET) or at risk of becoming NEET. Support will help participants develop their motivation to stay in education, become more work ready, and to make informed decisions about their future. At least 225 young people will benefit from summer activities including vocational skills tasters, short qualification courses, and programme to build confidence, leadership skills and teamwork. Partners on the programme will offer volunteering and work experience placements, while advice and guidance is also available for parents and schools.
Unlocking Potential
UP Oxfordshire helps young people aged 17-19 who are not in education, employment or training (NEET) to discover their potential. Participants can gain accredited qualifications in a range of subjects, or work experience in a range of industries. Through 1-2-1 mentoring and coaching young people will quickly develop self-confidence, self-esteem, work readiness and employability. On-going in-work support will also be available to those who find employment.
