The new voluntary community group, trained by Cumbria Ambulance Service, respond to medical collapse emergency 999 calls within the area. It will use the grant to purchase defibrillators for both high and low Lorton. Each responder will be issued with their own medical bag, safety clothing and pager, enabling them to give immediate life-saving support to a casualty. Training equipment will also be purchased to enable responders to maintain their competence in life-saving skills.
