The overall aim of this research is to improve the treatment of Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA), reducing disability, suffering and social exclusion through missed school and social opportunities. The goal of this study will be to understand why some children with JIA do not respond well to medication and to establish how psychological responses to success or failure of treatment will influence outcome in JIA.
