Children's Rights & Access to Justice Project - Prosiect
Trosolwg o'r prosiect
Children in northern Ghana face not only lack of access to education and health services, but are also at serious risk of abuse. Traditional cultural practises such as female genital mutilation, giving girl children to fetish priests in atonement for transgressions (trokosi), and early and forced marriage are commonplace and deeply entrenched. Child labour is widespread. Lack of opportunity leads children to leave families and head for towns where they are vulnerable to exploitation and sexual abuse.
