The funding will be used to attend a national conference on Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), a term used to describe various methods of communication that can 'add-on' to speech and are used to get around problems with ordinary speech. This will enable AAC users to meet people facing the same barriers to reduce isolation and promote wellbeing. It will also give the organisation the opportunity to raise its profile and get a better understanding of the AAC technology and services available.
