The organisation will use the funding to recruit a community support worker who will establish a service focusing on debt, unemployment and financial planning. This will enable the group to provide assistance to people struggling with debt due to the bedroom tax, problems with Universal Credit or benefit sanctions to help them plan monthly budgets and be signposted to other services including training for employment, volunteering opportunities to reduce the risk of eviction and long-term unemployment.
