Merkinch Partnership, based in Inverness, plans to run the Walk on the Wildside pilot to see if delivering a bush craft school is an effective way of engaging with the most vulnerable and excluded local young people aged 16-18. Activities will include shelter building, fire starting techniques, food preparations, cooking on an open fire and knowledge of the law concerning hunting and fishing. The aim is for the young people will become more engaged in their community, improving confidence and self esteem.
