The Community Support Initiative, based in Creggan in Derry/Londonderry, was developed after local people identified the need to set up a project to help them retrain and get back to work. The five-year project, which received £500,000, includes advice, support and advocacy to people wishing to become self-employed or develop social economy enterprises. It is setting up social economy enterprises including plumbing and window cleaning to help the project become sustainable and provide work experience.
