Brain Injury Matters (NI) is using a 199894 grant to run their Youth Matters Empowerment Programme over the next two years offering one-to-one services to young people aged 13-18 across Northern Ireland to achieve personal goals and independence following a brain injury. The project is supporting young people to understand the impact of their acquired brain injury (ABI) helping them develop coping skills to manage the ongoing pressures of teenage life with an ABI and equipping them with the skills and confidence to articulate their difficulties to people in their community including family peers school and wider community. The funding is also being used to provide support to parents/carers and siblings of people with an ABI to strengthen family relationships.
