The funding will be used to bring in more staff and volunteer support to help cope with the increase in demand for the phone befriending service during COVID-19. They aim to provide regular phone contact with older people to check on their welfare have a chat to reduce social isolation and help resolve any additional concerns or issues they may be experiencing during lockdown.
