The South Derbyshire District Council will use their award to hold a days activities related to the 60th anniversary of the Second World War. These activities will involve old people from the community who are often housebound. Activities will include a big band that will play Glen Miller tunes, an Anne Frank exhibition, war memorabilia from two local regiments and a singer specialising in songs from the period.
