The Clacton-On-Sea Branch of The Royal British Legion would use the grant to assist with the costs of holding a parade to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the end of WW2. This would involve numerous local groups besides the Legion itself, including: Sea Cadets, the Scouts, St John's Ambulance Brigade, Land Army and an array of ex-servicemen and women. This would be supported by a marching band and would provide the centrepiece for the localities commemoration programme.
