This funding aims to assist organizations that provide critical services in various areas such as providing food and emergency supplies, emergency shelter, safe spaces, warmth, and financial and housing advice. Eligible organizations must have increased demand for these critical services and face increased costs in delivering them.
You can apply for between £10,000 and £75,000. Applications for funding under £10,000 should apply to our (National Lottery) Awards for All programme.
We are more likely to fund small and medium-sized frontline organizations with an annual turnover between £10,000 and £1 million. Larger organizations can still apply if they can demonstrate effective collaboration with local communities and fill gaps in essential local services.
Applications are open from the 24th July 2023 and will close at noon on the 16th October 2023. All funding must be spent by the 31st March 2024.
To apply, your organization must already be running critical services related to food, emergency shelter, safe spaces, warmth, or financial and housing advice. Your organization must also be facing both increased demand and increased costs for these critical services.
Funding can cover costs related to expanding or adapting your services, such as staff salaries, volunteer costs, service delivery, materials, equipment, and room hire. It can also support small-scale refurbishment, system improvements, staff and volunteer training, and organizational development.
Please note that we cannot fund new services, larger building works, purchasing of buildings or land, or political activities. Funding cannot be used for cash distribution to individuals experiencing hardship.
There are two elements to this funding: costs linked to expanding or adapting critical services and increased costs of delivering existing critical services. Applications will be highly competitive, and decisions will be made about 12 weeks after submission.
